JS Photography Newsletter February 2012
Happy New Year! It's a bit late but.....
Hope everyone had a good Christmas and celebrated the New Year in style. I have been in Texas since the beginning of December 2011 and am enjoying the warmer climate as well as taking the opportunity to run a few half marathons and photograph the local scenery and culture of America. I will be back at the end of February to fulfill a couple of portrait jobs in March as well as do a school photographic session in mid-Wales. I am also looking forward to a week in Tenerife in the second week of March 2012.
Hopefully I will return to the USA in early April and hope to be able to cover Alex Flynn's Trans USA expedition which he hopes to begin at the start of May. In case you are unfamiliar with Alex Flynn's mission in life then please go and visit his website, find out and get involved!
The London 2012 Olympics
I have asked ActionPlus photo agency if I can get accreditation for photographing the Olympics and Paralympics in London this summer and am keeping my fingers crossed that it is granted so I can go and capture some awesome images of the World's Best Athletes in action.
Portrait Photography News
I am pleased to see that I have had several commissions for family and group portraits for clients who have wanted to produce a memorable record of their extended families or as a special present to mark an occasion or anniversary. All too often time passes by and then we regret not recording something which provides great memories later in life. A set of quality portrait images is probably the best way I know of preserving memories and creating a historical record of family or individual history. Get in touch to discuss your requirements and find out about autumn discounts now available!
Wedding Photography
I am available for wedding photography throughout the year but, as indicated earlier, it would be wise to book well in advance to ensure I am in the UK at the time of your wedding. In spite of offering free pre-wedding shoots with no obligation I was surprised that no-one took me up on the offer; strange in this time of recession when the few enquiries from prospective couples I have had in the last six months have all been looking for heavily discounted packages. Sadly, they will pay a lot of money for the wedding dress, the wedding reception, the honeymoon, but will not pay to get the best photographs of their special day and have memories in print which will last forever.
